Ultrasound Technologist Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Optum. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures, maintaining equipment, and ensuring high-quality images for radiologists to interpret. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients, following established protocols and guidelines
  • Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal performance and image quality
  • Prepare patients for examinations, explaining procedures and answering questions in a clear and compassionate manner
  • Operate ultrasound equipment, adjusting settings as needed to achieve optimal image quality
  • Review images for technical accuracy and quality, making adjustments as necessary
  • Maintain accurate records of patient data, examination results, and imaging protocol used
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
  • ARDMS certification (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in ultrasound technology
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of ultrasound principles and protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
Compensation and Benefits:

Our competitive compensation package includes an hourly rate between $28.03 and $54.95, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
