Job Overview

At Arm, we are building the future of computing. We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Firmware Enablement Engineer to join our team in the US. This is a technical leadership role that will play a critical part in the rapidly growing Arm Infrastructure Line of Business.

Responsibilities
  • Define Product Requirements: Develop the product requirement specification of the System Validation Kit on our OCP reference platform for customer evaluation.
  • Develop Validation Test Plans: Create detailed validation test plans for Linux-based system level stress tests on Arm-based Infrastructure devices.
  • Implement Validation Processes: Implement and build up system processes to package, maintain, and deploy Linux OS validation test suites for SLT qualification and screening.
  • Collaborate with Post-Silicon Validation Team: Collaborate with the post-silicon validation team to port, migrate, and enable bare-metal tests on Linux OS to customer reference platforms.
  • Debug and Resolve Hardware Issues: Debug and resolve hardware issues during the bringup phase.
  • Develop and Implement Tests: Develop and implement tests as per the test plan for hardware components.
  • Maintain Scalability and Deployment: Maintain scalability and deployment of validation OS and Linux-based test suites on validation platforms for device screening processes.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Education: A degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience as a Linux Development Engineer, Hardware Test Engineer, and/or similar role.
  • Skills: Experience with hardware testing methodologies and tools, bringup, and debugging. Familiarity with Linux, Ubuntu, and RTOS bring-up on SoC platforms. Solid understanding of programming languages such as C, C++, and Assembly.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. A willingness to guide and mentor engineers.
Nice to Have
  • Arm SystemReady Certification: Knowledge of the Arm SystemReady certification program.
  • Arm System Architecture: Experience with Arm system architecture specifications, such as the Base System Architecture (BSA), the Server Base System Architecture (SBSA), and the Server Base Manageability Requirements (SBMR).
  • Cloud and Datacenter Infrastructure: Experience with the install and debug of Linux and/or Windows operating systems for use in Cloud and Datacenter solutions. Demonstrated knowledge of or experience with Cloud and Datacenter infrastructure and software solutions.
