At Daybreak Foods, we are seeking a skilled Manure Technologist to join our team. This role will be responsible for organizing and operating the day-to-day functions of our manure management program under the direction of the Production Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities- Remove manure from animal welfare houses (barns)
- Operate the manure drying system
- Complete all operating schedules of manure belts, air blowers, and manure storage
- Perform daily, preventative, and predictive maintenance for the manure system, including bearings, chains, belts, etc.
- Track and document all activities with correct forms and paperwork
- Collaborate with other team members, such as Layer Animal Caretakers, Compost Technicians, and Maintenance Technicians, to ensure smooth operation of the system
- Work with other members of the maintenance department on special projects when time allows
- Clean and take inventory when necessary
- Work overtime as required
We offer a competitive salary range of $21.36 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus potential bonuses. Our ideal candidate will have a high school education and at least two years of maintenance experience, preferably in an agricultural setting.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Well-rounded knowledge of maintenance techniques, including stick welding
- Safe operation of required equipment and tools
- Able to follow guidelines, safety rules, and policies
- Competent operation of tractors, skid loaders, and pay loaders
- Skilled with Microsoft Windows and file management
- Ability to work as a team player and alone, with strong organizational, planning, and communication skills
The successful candidate will be able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally, and will be exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is moderate, and proper personal protective equipment will be required during certain working conditions.
