We are in search of a qualified Sheet Metal Prefabrication Specialist to enhance our workforce.
This role demands a proficient individual with substantial expertise in the fabrication, assembly, and installation of sheet metal elements, especially duct systems, across various settings. The successful candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of diverse material types, thicknesses, and assembly methods, along with the ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and assemble sheet metal products, including spiral, square, and rectangular duct systems.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to guarantee precise fabrication and installation.
- Utilize tools such as tape measures, shears, plasma cutters, welding machines, and impact drivers for cutting, shaping, and assembling sheet metal.
- Work with a variety of materials and gauges, including galvanized and stainless steel.
- Demonstrate proficiency in S&D (Slip and Drive) and TDF (Transverse Duct Flange) techniques.
- Execute cut-in taps and apply duct sealant as required.
- Collaborate with various trades within the workshop to install ductwork in multi-trade assemblies.
- Effectively communicate and work independently to meet project timelines.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and consistently wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate records of time spent on tasks.
- Keep a tidy and organized workspace to promote efficiency and safety.
- Adapt to evolving work environments and tasks as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 - 5 years of relevant experience.
- Reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
- Able to commit to full-time hours (40 hours per week) consistently.
- Capable of adhering to PPE requirements.
- Demonstrated experience as a proficient sheet metal worker, fabricator, or installer.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in using tape measures and other precision measuring tools.
- Experience in fabricating and installing spiral, square, and rectangular duct systems.
- Familiarity with S&D and TDF applications and methods.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team in a workshop setting.
