Job Title: Traveling Cardiac Sonographer

Avera Sacred Heart Hospital is seeking a skilled and experienced Cardiac Sonographer to join our team on a travel assignment. As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for conducting diagnostic ultrasound examinations and providing high-quality patient care.

Job Summary:
  • Conduct multi-specialty diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to departmental procedures.
  • Work under the direction of the Manager, Ultrasound Services, Medical Director of Vascular Laboratory and Radiology Department, and the Administrative Director for the Department of Surgery and Radiology.
  • Collaborate with experienced staff sonographers within the regional ultrasound program.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct diagnostic ultrasound examinations for patients with various medical conditions.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, taking into account individual needs and medical histories.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices.
Requirements:
  • Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited school of Radiologic/Ultrasound Technology program.
  • National certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or equivalent, if applicable.
  • State licensure, if required.
  • Advanced certification by accrediting body in specialty, RVT/RCS/RDCS or equivalent, for Cardiac/Vascular, within 18 months of hire, if applicable.
  • BLS certification.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a hospital or outpatient clinic.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CCRN certification.
  • Skilled Nursing experience.
  • Psychiatric or mental health hospital or outpatient clinic experience.
