The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is one of the 12 regional Reserve Banks that, along with the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., constitute the Federal Reserve System. This institution plays a crucial role in shaping and executing monetary policy, supervising financial institutions, and offering financial services to banks and the federal government. It serves the regions of eastern and central Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware.
Position Summary:
In this role, you will oversee and enhance the Bank's electrical distribution systems, which encompass 15kV switchgear, emergency power generators, UPS systems, alternative energy resources, building management controls, access control systems, video surveillance, and various low-voltage networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead electrical infrastructure enhancement projects and modernization planning for all aspects of the electrical system.
- Maintenance Oversight: Supervise the operation and upkeep of the electrical systems by both internal staff and external contractors, developing processes and procedures for effective management.
- Consultant Coordination: Manage electrical consultants and contractors during the design and execution phases, assisting in contractor selection and equipment procurement.
- Contract Analysis: Participate in the evaluation of contract proposals and cost estimates from external contractors.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and budget estimates by coordinating, directing, and inspecting contract work, while preparing engineering analyses and ROI calculations for electrical systems.
- Energy Conservation: Recommend strategies related to energy efficiency initiatives.
Technical Support:
Provide expert assistance in the operation and maintenance of building electrical systems, serving as the primary internal consultant for senior management regarding the management of the Bank's electrical infrastructure and capital assets.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the Manager of Plant Operations and electrical supervisors to schedule work performed by in-house electricians, ensuring optimal resource allocation to meet objectives.
Budget Management:
Administer cost center expenses and capital budgets, ensuring accuracy in requisitions and invoices.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess an Electrical Engineering degree with a minimum of ten years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in construction trades management. Professional Engineering licensing is preferred, along with substantial field experience in electrical system installation and maintenance.
Skills Required:
Demonstrated project management capabilities, excellent communication skills, strong collaboration experience, and comprehensive knowledge of construction trades and costs are essential. Proficiency in Office 365, project management software, and CAD tools is also required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods, navigate uneven terrain, climb stairs and ladders, and access confined spaces for equipment inspections.
