Surgery Coordinator

Job Description
Schedule medical procedures for patients with providers, allocating appropriate time, location, and scheduling codes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-authorize surgeries through insurance, coordinate with designated facilities, and accurately log information into the scheduling system.
- Maintain a surgical log for statistical analysis and provide pre-surgical information packets with date and instructions.
- Coordinate with surgical facilities for special equipment or personnel and ensure pre-operative labs are completed and logged in patient records.
- Use clinical knowledge to confirm appointments align with diagnoses, audit the phone system daily for accuracy, and verify scheduling before publishing.
- Collaborate with surgery center and hospital staff to maintain strong working relationships for patient care.
- Treat patients and referring physicians with respect and courtesy, maintain patient confidentiality, and perform additional related duties as needed.
Requirements:
Minimum of one year scheduling experience in a surgery center and/or medical office setting, High School Degree.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, full-time.
