Role Summary

In the capacity of a Senior Backend Software Engineer at Maven Clinic, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction and strategy for our Platform and Product Teams. Your responsibilities will encompass the design, development, and upkeep of robust, scalable, and efficient systems that cater to the expanding needs of our product and platform initiatives. You will collaborate closely with diverse teams to guarantee the delivery of superior products and features that align with the expectations of our clients and uphold Maven's high standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, efficient, and reliable systems that address the evolving requirements of Maven's platform and backend teams.
  • Conceptualize, design, and implement cloud-based solutions that enhance the agility, flexibility, and scalability of our systems.
  • Facilitate technical design discussions and offer mentorship to team members regarding best practices, coding standards, and architectural principles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to spearhead the development of new features and products, ensuring they meet customer needs and adhere to Maven's quality benchmarks.
  • Guide and mentor mid-level engineers, fostering their technical growth and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Assess and integrate emerging technologies, tools, and trends that can drive innovation and enhance the efficiency of our engineering practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in backend development and platform architecture, with a proven history of constructing highly scalable, efficient, and reliable systems.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing complex distributed systems, including microservices architecture, containerization, and orchestration.
  • Strong proficiency in developing cloud-based solutions, with hands-on experience in one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, etc.), including infrastructure as code and serverless architectures.
  • Familiarity with multiple programming languages (Java, Python, Go, etc.).
  • Experience in building distributed systems utilizing microservices and both relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical design discussions and provide guidance on best practices, coding standards, and architectural principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality code in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.
