We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director to lead our Adult Liver Transplant Program at the University of Miami Health System. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and growth of the program, ensuring high standards of practice, and promoting quality care for liver transplant patients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement transplant policies, protocols, and practice guidelines for the program.
- Collaborate with the Medical and Surgical Director to establish transplant program goals and objectives.
- Lead efforts to develop and maintain a good outpatient clinical program for liver transplant patients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary service lines to provide comprehensive care for liver transplant patients.
- Develop and provide input on the development and maintenance of practice guidelines, policies, and methodologies for medical care of liver transplant patients.
- Participate in site review by regulatory agencies and insurance companies.
- Promote research activity within the specialty and enhance clinical and academic endeavors.
- Organize, direct, and implement departmental practices to ensure compliance with applicable laws and guidelines.
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, referral MDs, hospital personnel, and patients/families.
- Board certified in Medicine with a completed fellowship in Hepatology and underwent Transplant Fellowship or has held more than 5 years of transplant experience.
- Member in good standing of the hospital staff.
- Currently licensed to practice in Florida.
- Minimum of five years clinical experience in Transplantation.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to accept and implement change.
- Ability to problem solve to make effective decisions.
- Demonstrated history of positive collegial relations with colleagues, support staff, administrators, and patients.
- Ability to show leadership qualities in the past.
- Experience in leading a transplant program.
- Knowledge of transplant policies, protocols, and practice guidelines.
- Ability to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary service lines.
- Ability to promote research activity within the specialty.
