Position Responsibilities

The Surgical Technologist II in the Operating Room is tasked with delivering safe and effective patient care. This role operates under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assisting in the preparation and care of surgical patients by performing routine and delegated tasks. Key responsibilities include:
  • Setting up the operating room and ensuring sterile techniques are followed
  • Preparing the sterile field with appropriate instruments for surgical procedures
  • Assisting the surgeon during operations
  • Counting sponges, sharps, and instruments in compliance with established protocols
  • Facilitating efficient room turnover post-surgery
Competency in caring for patients across all age groups is essential. Availability for on-call duties and weekend shifts may be required.
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or an LPN program
  • Preferred experience of over six months as an LPN or Operating Room Technician
  • Valid and active surgical tech certification or LPN licensure in the relevant state
  • Current CPR certification
  • ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications may be required based on assigned area
