Your Role

As an experienced professional in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), you will play a crucial role in establishing a robust EHS culture. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with the Head of EHS to develop and enhance our environmental, health, and safety initiatives.

This role encompasses a comprehensive approach to EHS, and we are looking for candidates eager to learn and master various aspects of the field while contributing to our mission.

Position Summary

The EHS Specialist will partner with the Head of EHS to implement and expand Antora's EHS programs, supporting the development of manufacturing facilities and on-site demonstration projects. You will be actively involved in numerous initiatives and will take ownership of several key responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and address gaps, opportunities, and risks within the organization, prioritizing and executing plans to resolve these issues.
  • Lead the development and sustainability of assigned EHS programs, including:
    • Safety protocols such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and electrical safety.
    • Environmental management processes for air quality permits, hazardous waste handling, and greenhouse gas management.
    • Health initiatives encompassing respiratory protection, industrial hygiene assessments, and ergonomics.
    • Fostering a culture of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP).
    • Creating engaging training and educational resources.
    • Implementing physical security measures for facilities and employee safety.
    • Addressing Process Safety elements relevant to our operations.
  • Collaborate on strategic solutions for significant challenges while also managing the practical aspects of maintaining our processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety within a manufacturing or industrial context.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant EHS discipline or a related scientific field.
  • Proficient in researching and monitoring regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Strong project management skills to ensure timely delivery of key priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills adaptable to various audiences, from shop floor personnel to senior management.
  • A collaborative mindset focused on finding optimal solutions aligned with our mission.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant EHS discipline.
  • Certifications such as CSP or CIH, or a commitment to obtain them.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles.
