POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the supervision of a certified A&P Mechanic, you will engage in preventive maintenance, repairs, modifications, and other essential maintenance tasks on aircraft and their components, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on aircraft in a safe and efficient manner.
- Complete all necessary maintenance documentation accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Maintain effective communication with fellow maintenance staff and management regarding work progress and challenges.
- Participate in on-the-job training and complete required training materials.
- Interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and technical specifications to assess repair methods.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Exhibit punctuality and adhere to attendance policies.
- Demonstrate professionalism and teamwork with colleagues.
- Evaluate safety conditions of the work area and equipment prior to commencing maintenance tasks.
- Utilize safety protocols consistently throughout all maintenance activities.
- Complete all internal documentation and maintenance records as required.
- Stay informed on maintenance updates and company communications.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- A strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Previous mechanical experience in a workshop setting is advantageous.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
- No felony convictions and a stable employment history.
- A valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Passing a mechanical aptitude assessment.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English effectively, including the ability to interpret safety regulations and maintenance procedures.
PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS
Ability to apply logical reasoning to follow instructions and resolve issues in standardized situations.
DECISION-MAKING CAPACITY
Ability to make informed decisions based on established guidelines and policies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role requires the ability to:
- Stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods.
- Climb, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds as necessary.
- See and respond to work-related hazards.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees will work in environments with exposure to mechanical parts, fumes, and varying weather conditions. The role may require wearing protective equipment and working during nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
TRAVEL
Occasional travel may be required, including overnight stays.
