Role Summary: The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) plays a crucial role in delivering targeted therapy to students with speech or language impairments. This position involves working closely with students, teachers, and parents to create an effective therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual therapy sessions with students, utilizing both pull-out and push-in models.
  • Facilitate small group sessions focused on shared goals among students.
  • Collaborate with educators and parents to assess and understand students' needs.
  • Utilize various evaluation tools to determine eligibility for special education services.
  • Develop and propose IEP goals in conjunction with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor and document student progress, preparing reports as required.
  • Work alongside other professionals, including psychologists and behavior analysts, to support student development.
  • Assist in the implementation of high and low-tech AAC systems.
  • Provide screenings and referrals for students needing additional support.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid SLP license in the relevant state.
  • Additional certifications may be required based on state regulations.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to travel and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of walking, standing, and bending may be required.
