Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Sign Technician to join our team at Yavapai County, AZ. As a Sign Technician, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices in County rights-of-way.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe, report, and repair damaged traffic control devices, obstructions to sign view, and other potential safety hazards in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Remove and/or replace outdated or missing traffic control devices.
  • Verify reports of damaged or missing traffic control devices and make emergency repair calls as needed.
  • Maintain traffic control device inventory and equipment service records.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in field service with use of hand and power tools.
  • Must possess or obtain a valid Arizona Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement within 1 year of employment.
  • ATSSA Flagger Certification, ATSSA Traffic Control Technician Certification, IMSA Signs & Markings I Certification or equivalent, OSHA 10 Certification, and OSHA Forklift Certification.
Work Environment

The work environment is associated with a workshop and field environment year-round in all weather conditions and includes exposure to loud noise, machinery, dust, fumes, mist, and chemicals.

Physical Requirements

The ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, sufficient vision to read printed materials, a computer screen, and mobile device, hearing and speech ability to communicate effectively in-person and by phone, and the capability to bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, walk over rough, uneven, and/or rocky surfaces, and lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance.
