Job Summary

The Cheer Instructor - Sports Development Associate will be responsible for teaching cheer classes to youth, aged 4-17 years, and assisting with the development of our sports programs. This includes setting up and leading classes, ensuring participant engagement, and maintaining program equipment and facilities. Additionally, this role will involve collaborating with our sports team to develop new programs and services, and supporting the marketing and promotion of our sports offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Teach cheer classes to youth, aged 4-17 years, and assist with the development of our sports programs.
  • Set up and lead classes, ensuring participant engagement and maintaining program equipment and facilities.
  • Collaborate with our sports team to develop new programs and services.
  • Support the marketing and promotion of our sports offerings.
  • Ensure that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
  • Model relationship-building skills in all interactions and develop and maintain collaborative relationships with staff, parents, and caregivers, and program participants.

Qualifications

  • One year of related experience preferred.
  • Within 3 months of hire, completion of CPR, First Aid, AED for infant, child, and adult, Bloodborne Pathogens, Illinois Harassment training.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
