Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Juvenile Residential Supervisor to join our team at Dallas County. As a key member of our residential services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our facilities and providing a safe and supportive environment for our youth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and train residential staff, interns, volunteers, and part-time workers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality care and services to our youth.
  • Develop, coordinate, and evaluate daily educational, therapeutic, and recreational programs and activities to meet the needs of our youth.
  • Conduct inspections, drills, and searches of youths when contraband is suspected, and prepare and complete reports and other documentation as required.
  • Make critical and sound decisions during emergencies or potentially dangerous situations, and conduct group intervention crisis sessions as needed.
  • Assume management responsibilities in the absence of the manager, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a job-related field of study.
  • Two (2) years of work-related experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments, and the general public.
  • Must obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of hire, and must be certified as required by applicable standards for the facility/department assigned within six months of employment.
  • Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and good driving record, and must maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code.
  • Must pass an extensive background investigation, and must be subject to random, unannounced drug and/or alcohol testing during employment.
