Join Leslie's Poolmart, Inc. as a Quality Assurance Technician II and play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our products. As a member of our quality team, you will be responsible for performing routine line inspections and laboratory testing to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality.
Responsibilities:- Adhere to established guidelines, SOPs, and quality management systems to ensure consistent quality.
- Conduct safe work practices and follow proper safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Collect and test samples in the laboratory using good laboratory practices and wet chemistry techniques.
- Ensure accurate labeling and management of chemicals in the plant.
- Perform quality control testing and ensure that quality control objectives are met.
- Collaborate with departmental managers to optimize product reliability, line production, and minimize costs.
- Maintain laboratory calibration logbooks and recalibrate equipment as needed.
- Audit line components to ensure proper usage of materials in production.
- Maintain sample retains as part of the sample retention program.
- Recommend measures to improve quality assurance and safety programs.
- Place material on quality hold per SOP or when requested by Department Lead or Manager.
- Assist in sampling and compatibility testing of chemicals to identify chemicals that have not been labeled following established protocols.
- Assist the lab manager in setting up records for new products from customer specifications after QC validation protocols have been established.
- Assist the lab manager with R&D tableting projects.
- Maintain good housekeeping of the lab and retain storage area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with quality control experience.
- College-level courses in General Chemistry and Laboratory Chemistry.
- Proficient with basic math and use of measurements.
- Ability to analyze data, report data orally and in writing, reach conclusions, and formulate solutions to problems.
- Frequent standing, lifting, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and walking.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders to work at heights over 15 feet.
- Must be able to wear a respirator and/or other personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary to reduce exposure.
- May be exposed to various chemicals.
- Must be able to work in heat and cold.
