Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Zeeland Farm Services I. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of our products with governmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Weighing and Testing: Weigh each load in and out, ensuring only the load is weighed, and maintain accurate records.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Follow all procedures and policies to meet the requirements of CERT-ID EU non-GMO certification, and report any potential food safety issues to management.
  • Sampling and Grading: Take samples for each incoming load according to state and federal guidelines, and grade each sample based on type of specialty bean for moisture content, weight, foreign matter, protein, and oil content.
  • Documentation and Communication: Document all test results clearly and precisely on weight slips and internal company documents, and communicate with customers and/or drivers on seed quality and provide other information as needed.
  • Logistics and Operations: Assist with paperwork for specialty product identification for intake and unloading, provide directions to drivers for loading and unloading, and communicate with Operations on truck location, estimated arrival time, quality, and bin location.
  • Maintenance and Safety: Ensure all sampling and testing equipment is in good working order, order parts and supplies to keep the equipment functioning, and maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workstation/environment at all times.
  • Customer Service: Provide a "Customer Service" attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School or Equivalent
  • Experience: Preferred, but not required
  • Grading Certification: Has or ability to obtain grading certification
Preferred Skills:
  • Plant Equipment and Safety: Working knowledge of plant equipment and safety
  • Software Proficiency: Working knowledge of Windows Operating System, company accounting software, and dispatch software
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Organizational and Analytical Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, and strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions
