Job Title: Graduate Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our team in the Automation, Integration, and System Protection (AISP) Department.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will perform routine engineering tasks, primarily in the system protection and SCADA disciplines, and will work closely with experienced electrical engineers and engineering technicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform short-circuit and symmetrical component analysis, time-current coordination, step-distance coordination, relay settings development, NERC compliance, and coordination studies.
  • Apply protection system engineering practices and principles in transmission line, bus, transformer, capacitor bank, reactor bank, feeder, generator, motor, and communication-assisted protection schemes.
  • Create SCADA point lists, remote terminal unit (RTU) programs, human-machine interfaces (HMI's), meter programs, metering overviews, and calculations under the supervision of a lead engineer.
  • Develop complete design packages for site network and communication architectures compliant with client and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required, with an ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
  • Engineering internship experience preferred.
  • Electrical power systems coursework preferred.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Ability to apply current, standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to complete engineering tasks.
  • Develop plans, specifications, and observation reports to ensure accuracy and adherence to sound engineering practice.
  • Practice efficiency engineering as it pertains to design selection.
  • Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality.
  • Work closely with engineering technicians and experienced electrical engineers.
  • Perform detailed engineering design and evaluations within specialty.
  • Take ownership of quality.
  • Responsible for completing tasks and projects in the allotted time.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence concerning the direction of assigned projects.
  • May participate in marketing, sales, and business development activities within an assigned market.
  • Demonstrate a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
  • Willing to travel 10-20% of the year.
  • Effectively communicate and interact with clients to ensure we are meeting their needs.
  • Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the US.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, or ability to obtain prior to starting date.
