Job Overview

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Follow directives from supervisors and adhere to mandatory guidelines for youth care and nursing.
2. Provide care to residents while ensuring safety, comfort, and respect for their rights and cultural differences.
3. Lead and engage residents in recreational activities, both individually and in groups, according to the program calendar established by the Program Director.
4. Assist with outings, including extended trips outside the facility.
5. Support residents in daily living activities and maintain the cleanliness of the facility.
6. Implement the Individual Treatment Plan and utilize positive reinforcement to encourage behavioral improvements.
7. Document resident behavior accurately and report any unusual observations to the appropriate staff.
8. Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure the cleanliness of the activity therapy department.
9. Participate in required training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications
1. Valid Missouri driver's license.
2. Experience in a mental health setting, particularly with adolescents, is preferred.
3. Knowledge of child/adolescent development and the ability to connect with youth facing mental health or substance abuse issues.
4. Familiarity with community resources and recreational principles.
5. Ability to engage in physical activities as part of the role.
