Job Summary

Under the guidance of a direct supervisor, the Speech Language Pathologist will provide speech and language therapy services to students with communication impairments in alignment with Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Evaluation Team Reports (ETRs), and/or 504 plans. The successful candidate will facilitate the improvement of communication skills necessary for students to fully engage in educational activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide speech and language therapy services to students with communication impairments
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in alignment with IEPs, ETRs, and/or 504 plans
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and internal/external stakeholders to support student communication needs
  • Conduct complex fact-finding investigations and develop plans of action to address various issues and concerns
  • Develop and implement classroom strategies to support student communication goals
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • Valid Ohio Speech and Hearing Professionals Board license
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Valid Ohio Department of Education (ODE) pupil services license
  • Working knowledge of regulatory standards, ethical/legal responsibilities, and policies related to speech/language therapy in schools
  • Strong relationship building, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret assessment results
  • Ability to multi-task and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with high levels of quality and accuracy
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to NCOESC administration, staff, parents, and other stakeholders
Clearances

Criminal justice fingerprint/background (FBI/BCI), and public health clearances are required.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

The performance of this job requires frequent walking, sitting, talking, and hearing, engagement in repetitive motions, and eye/hand/foot coordination. This job requires occasional lifting, carrying, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling.
