About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital. As a key member of our receiving patient emergency department, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs and activity
  • Provide support to veterinarians and assist other departments as needed
  • Provide comfort, diagnostic, surgical, and nursing care to patients, including critical care patients
  • Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing
  • Perform laboratory procedures, including blood typing and slide agglutination testing
  • Take and process radiographs while following radiation safety protocols
  • Use and maintain medical equipment
  • Provide professional client communication
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience working as a Technician or Veterinary Assistant in an ER setting
  • Strong desire to learn and apply knowledge/skills to daily work life
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to demonstrate technical procedures
  • Reliability and follow-through with work-related tasks and projects
