Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct and indirect patient care in a clinical area, including assisting physicians with patient care procedures and performing simple medical and laboratory procedures.
• Lead and guide other medical assistants in their daily duties, ensuring seamless workflow and high-quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the nursing supervisor/manager to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote excellent patient care and team performance.

Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of clinical experience as a Certified Medical Assistant within UAB Medicine Clinics preferred.
• CCMA Certification from the National Healthcare Association (NHA) or the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) required; NHA or AAMA certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment if certified by another accrediting agency.
• Current CPR certification required; must be obtained within 30 days of employment if not already certified.
• No disciplinary action (including verbal warning) within the last two years; met or above on performance evaluation for the last two years.
