Position Overview:
The HVAC Service Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and related environmental control systems. This role requires a solid understanding of refrigeration, heating, and pipefitting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct repairs and replacements of compressor and condenser units.
- Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and components using metalworking tools.
- Connect tubing or pipes to refrigerating units and solder joints to create a complete refrigerant circuit.
- Repair or replace motors, compressors, and control systems, ensuring proper connections to power sources.
- Perform leak tests and add refrigerant to maintain operational pressure in all systems.
- Replace faulty electrical components such as breakers, thermostats, and wiring using appropriate tools.
- Service air-conditioning units with varying cooling capacities.
- Maintain tools and vehicles provided by the company in a professional manner.
- Adhere to safety protocols, report hazards, and contribute to a safe working environment.
- Exhibit strong attendance and productivity levels.
- Demonstrate effective time management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Show commitment to teamwork, flexibility, and adaptability in the workplace.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of two years of experience in commercial or industrial HVAC is preferred. Class I and II certifications are necessary, with EPA Universal certification being advantageous. Knowledge of pneumatic controls is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective teamwork and customer relations. Candidates must be physically capable of climbing ladders, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working in confined spaces.
Certificates and Licenses:
A valid driver's license and Class I and II certifications are required. EPA Universal certification is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to perform tasks that involve climbing, lifting, and working in various environmental conditions.
