Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at NYU Langone Health. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide high-quality physical therapy services to patients. Your primary responsibility will be to implement appropriate interventions and treatments to promote the improvement of mobility, functional ability, and quality of life for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement interventions and treatments as indicated by the patient's functional status, diagnosis, and age in conjunction with the supervising therapist's established plan of care.
  • Provide patient, family, and clinician education regarding the patient's functional status and plan of care.
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and modify the plan of care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
  • Interact and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and health care goals.
  • Provide clinical supervision to Rehabilitation Aides.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation reflecting the interventions and education provided, interdisciplinary communication, and plan of care.
Requirements
  • A Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant (Commission on Accreditation Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) approved PTA program).
  • Current and valid NYS Physical Therapy Assistant license and registration or limited permit.
  • Current and valid BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1- 2 years Hospital (Inpatient) or Orthopedic (Outpatient) Rehabilitation setting.
  • Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
