Job Summary

Ancora Education is seeking a highly experienced and skilled CDL Lead Instructor to lead our Commercial Driver's License Program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and subject matter expertise in the development and implementation of our CDL curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Services
    • Meet with first-term students during the provisional period to provide guidance and support.
    • Supplement instructor advisement for students receiving failing mid-term reports.
    • Provide academic advisement and counseling as needed to students.
    • Lead student retention initiatives for students experiencing barriers to success.
    • Maintain regular contact with students and respond to their questions and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Curriculum Development and Implementation
    • Serve as a subject matter expert regarding academic curriculum for the CDL program.
    • Participate in the curriculum development and revision process.
    • Provide leadership in the implementation of new and revised curriculum.
    • Schedule and convene the local Advisory Board.
  • Program Management
    • Oversee the status of quality of curriculum, instructional materials, equipment, and facilities.
    • Monitor and support the student population within the CDL program.
    • Collect data for purposes of analyzing program performance.
Requirements
  • Minimum:
    • Education requirement varies by field of instruction.
    • For Commercial Driver's License (CDL): High School Diploma or GED.
    • Industry license in field of instruction if required by industry.
    • 3 years of experience in academic instruction in a post-secondary environment.
    • 5 years of commercial driving industry experience.
    • 5 years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Valid CDL Class A license.
  • Preferred:
    • 7 years of experience in academic instruction in a post-secondary environment.
    • 10 years of experience in the field of commercial driving.
    • Working knowledge of federal/state government education regulations.
    • 7 years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
    • Previous experience as an academic program director.
    • Experience in student guidance, or related field.
    • Working knowledge of federal/state government education regulations.
