Radiation therapists play a vital role in the oncology team, delivering concentrated radiation therapy to patients with cancer. As a Radiation Therapist - Oncology Care Specialist, you will operate linear accelerators and other radiation equipment to ensure accurate patient positioning and treatment delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing radiation therapy treatments using linear accelerators or other radiation equipment
  • Ensuring accurate patient positioning and treatment delivery
  • Monitoring and assessing patient reactions to treatment and reporting any issues to the oncologist
  • Maintaining detailed records of treatment plans, progress, and outcomes
  • Educating patients on treatment procedures and possible side effects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy or related field
  • Current certification as a Radiation Therapist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent certification
  • Proficiency in medical imaging techniques and equipment
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
  • Experience in acute care or critical care settings preferred
