About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Retail Yard Worker to join our team at Koopman Lumber Co. in Pembroke, MA. As a key member of our yard operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment, and contributing to the overall success of our retail yard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service, greeting customers and ensuring a positive experience
  • Load and safely handle customer orders, maintaining a clean and organized work area
  • Operate a cash register, make change, and issue receipts to customers
  • Assist truck drivers in loading and unloading merchandise, ensuring safe and proper handling
  • Unload incoming freight, check counts, and complete necessary reports
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, prices, and new products on the market
  • Perform duties in a safe manner, observing safe procedures and reporting any unsafe working conditions
Requirements
  • Ability to operate a cash register and computer equipment
  • Ability to do math, read orders, and follow instructions
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours, reach overhead, and lift up to 100 pounds
