We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible pediatric orthopedic surgeon to join our hospital-employed pediatric orthopedic practice at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. Our current pediatric practice includes 2 full-time providers and a support staff of 3 full-time ortho techs, 2 dedicated medical assistants, and 2 pediatric schedulers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide general pediatric orthopedic care, including slipped capital femoral epiphysis, pediatric fracture care, benign bone tumors, lower extremity deformity, clubfeet, early-onset scoliosis, neuromuscular scoliosis, adolescent scoliosis, hip dysplasia, and congenital deformity.
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary pediatric care team, including surgery, pediatric anesthesiology, neonatology, gastroenterology, neurology, cardiology, infectious disease, endocrinology, genetics, ophthalmology, developmental pediatrics, and child life services.
- Participate in our established surgical spinal deformity program and utilize intraoperative 3D navigation adjuncts such as Ziehm and Arcadis.
Qualifications:
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery
- Fellowship training in pediatric orthopedics
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach to pediatric patient care
- Desire to become part of a multidisciplinary pediatric care team
