Toolmaker Apprenticeship

We offer a unique opportunity to learn the trade of toolmaking through our dual apprenticeship program.

Duration: 3 1/2 years

Training Structure: The theoretical part of the training takes place at the "August Horch" Technical Vocational School in Zwickau on a rotating basis. The practical training is carried out in cooperation with the Volkswagen Education Institute in the 1st and 2nd year, and directly at FMB GmbH in Lichtentanne in the 3rd and 4th year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and controlling work processes
• Manufacturing various components, such as tools, fixtures, and gauges, as well as individual parts from different materials
• Sawing, filing, drilling, turning, milling, eroding, and grinding parts according to technical drawings
• Assembly and disassembly of components
• Programming and operating machines with numerical control
• Using technical documents and information and communication systems
• Control technology - pneumatics and hydraulics

What We Offer:

We have been training apprentices since 1996, who have a high chance of being hired as skilled workers at Fertigungsmittelbau GmbH after successfully completing their apprenticeship.
