About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Office Manager Technician to join our team at the Virginia Department of Military Affairs. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing technical support and administrative services to our STARBASE program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the local area network is up and operational at all times.
  • Track warranty certificates and facilitate IT training.
  • Maintain the required certifications and keep up-to-date with the latest technology.
  • Perform computer hardware maintenance, software configuration, and network maintenance.
Administrative Duties
  • Prepare and disseminate information of public interest.
  • Receive visitors and telephone calls, and respond to correspondence.
  • Assist in researching, writing, designing, or editing agency publications.
  • Use the SPCC credit card and eVA procurement system to obtain goods and services for the STARBASE program.
  • Reconcile the SPCC credit card monthly and maintain the required procurement certification.
Requirements
  • Ability to understand complex technical instructions and facilitate IT training.
  • Ability to perform regular computer hardware maintenance and upkeep.
  • Ability to perform network maintenance and troubleshoot technology issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and complex records.
  • Working knowledge of departmental rules, regulations, and procedures, and principles of office management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a help desk technician or Information Technology professional.
  • Experience using WordPress.
  • Experience in the education field.
  • Experience procuring goods and services.
