Job Summary
The Radiological Technologist is a certified health professional who applies the art and skill of diagnostic imaging using ionizing radiation in a safe and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities
- Obtain patient clinical history and relevant lab work, documenting information for licensed practitioners.
- Position and immobilize patients to best demonstrate anatomical areas, respecting patient comfort and ability.
- Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
- Perform radiographic procedures using imaging equipment and accessories, ensuring successful outcomes.
- Verify informed consent and complete pre and post-procedure documentation.
- Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures, applying aseptic surgical techniques as needed.

Requirements
- Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institute.
- Minimum 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred).
- Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) (required).
- State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed).
- BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH).

Working Conditions
This role may involve periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads. You may be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse. Additionally, you may be required to use physical restraints or work in environments with high noise levels and bright lights.
