Job Description

Job Title: Police Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the Town of Knightdale, NC. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and upholding the values of our department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce laws and regulations to maintain public safety and order
  • Respond to emergency situations, including medical emergencies and crimes in progress
  • Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and interview witnesses
  • Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect crime
  • Provide assistance to citizens, including traffic direction and crowd control
  • Participate in community outreach and education programs
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and departments

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
  • Valid North Carolina driver's license required
  • Law enforcement certification awarded by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission required
  • Ability to pass a background check and physical fitness test
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
