CT Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to operate CT equipment, perform diagnostic procedures, and provide exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy, radiation safety, and excellent communication skills.

• Operate CT equipment to perform basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures, including imaging processing, body, head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, contrast, orthopedic, and extremity scans.
• Obtain medical history from patients, compare requisitions to physicians' orders, and ensure exam accuracy.
• Position patients, select proper scanning factors, adjust factors to attain the appropriate images, and provide radiation protection and safety in accordance with regulatory agencies.
• Prepare and administer contrast media under the direction of the Radiologist, assist in proper scanning techniques, and provide measurements and additional slices for accurate interpretation with direction from the Radiologist.
• Post-process images as directed, accurately identify and label images, and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
• Prepare and maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies, document billing codes of procedures performed, and ensure accurate patient charges.
• Identify equipment performance issues, perform equipment quality assurance tests and calibration procedures, and report malfunctioning equipment to appropriate staff.
• Perform various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.

• Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
• Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Computed Tomography (CT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 18 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.

• Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
• Competent in IV and venipuncture (if required by facility).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills to work effectively with physicians, patients, and other staff members.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Intermediate computer skills.

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
• Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force, perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present, and have clear speech, vision, and hearing.
• May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
