Forensic Scene Analyst

Position Overview: This full-time role involves the training and education of the West Virginia State Police Crime Scene Response Teams, as well as basic officer and cadet academy recruits. The incumbent will also respond to major crime scenes across West Virginia for documentation, evidence collection, and crime scene reconstruction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct training sessions for:
- CSI I (Basic Crime Scene Investigation)
- CSI II (Crime Scene Reconstruction)
- Blood Dynamics I (Basic Blood Pattern Analysis)
- Blood Dynamics II (Advanced Blood Pattern Analysis)
- Shooting Reconstruction
- Expert Courtroom Testimony
- Body Recovery
- Photography
- Maintain training records for all courses.
- Respond to crime scenes upon request, including suspicious deaths, sexual assaults, robberies, and property crimes.
- Provide expert testimony in court as required.
Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in law enforcement investigations or a related field relevant to criminal justice.
Substitution: Relevant experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
Special Requirements: A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a background check are mandatory.
Compensation: Pay Grade: 10 (Salary Range: 27,662 - 51,173)
