Cardinal Health is seeking a Part-Time Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Cass Medical Center. The successful candidate will work 24-28 hours a week, ideally Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 10AM-6:30PM, and every other Friday 6:30AM-3PM. Some weekends may be required.
The Pharmacy Technician II, Health Systems Pharmacy, will provide assistance to the Pharmacist in the daily operations of the pharmacy. Responsibilities include preparing and filling prescriptions, taking inventory, processing product returns, and ensuring all orders are reviewed by a registered pharmacist. The Technician will also record all activity in compliance with regulatory and company guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in filling prescription orders as permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
- Prepare medication for dispensing, packaging, and shipment.
- Take inventory, place orders, check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves, and remove out-of-date items from the inventory.
- Enter medical supply orders in the pharmacy system.
- Communicate with customers (patients, clinics, caregivers, physicians) in a professional manner.
- Process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
- Input patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system.
- Maintain knowledge of and abide by all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent preferred.
- State Pharmacy Technician license/registration required.
- National pharmacy technician certification preferred.
- IV experience preferred.
- In-patient hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- Flexibility in working schedule.
- Ability to work in a group.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Strong customer service skills required.
- Comfortable performing repetitive motions/tasks.
- Ability to manage several tasks at the same time.
- Ability to focus on tasks.
- Ability to evaluate operating conditions.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment.
