Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 12-hour nights, 36-hour guarantee

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of recent ED experience

License: Valid state nursing license

Certifications: ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC, BLS (AHA)

Requirements:

  • Experience in a Critical Access facility
  • CERNER EMR experience
  • Travel experience preferred
  • BSN or higher preferred

Job Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

- Serve as a clinical resource nurse with responsibilities exceeding those of a standard registered nurse.

- Promote and maintain quality patient care and manage nursing operations.

- Assist in the training of nursing staff and enforce facility procedures, policies, practices, and standards.

- Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and managerial skills.

- Work in an Emergency Department known for short wait times, with patients typically seen within 30 minutes or less.

- Attend to a patient population of all ages, with a typical 24-hour patient census of 8-15 patients.

- Collaborate with PAs in the ED setting.

- Think on your feet and prioritize quickly in a fast-paced environment.

- Flexibly adjust to continually restructuring time, sometimes by the minute.

- Obtain patient health history and conduct accurate physical assessments and treatment plans.

- Utilize critical thinking and sharp decision-making skills.

- Communicate effectively and handle unplanned situations, including dealing with angry or combative behaviors from patients or their families.

- Exhibit compassion, humor, good organizational skills, and be a team player.

Additional Requirements:

- Work every other weekend and on holidays if needed.

- Requested time off during the assignment must be noted and verified before the upload.

- No more than 5 days of requested time off will be accepted.

- Local travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible.
