The Utility A Start is a bargaining unit position that requires general knowledge and ability to perform basic construction-related skills and utility skills such as, but not limited to, use of air and hand tools, equipment operation, pipefitting, MRSLIP, turn-ons and shut-offs, vehicle safety, safe material handling, after-hours work, and exposure to weather.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meter work - building and replacing
  • Leak and CO response
  • Locating facilities
  • Turn on and Light ups
  • Call out when judged qualified

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Good mechanical skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Availability for shift work and extended hours

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid PA Driver's license
