Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Welding Specialist to join our team at Wagstaff. This is a swing shift position, working 3:20 PM - 1:50 AM, Monday - Thursday, with overtime possible on Fridays.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is $25.00 - $36.00 per hour, depending on experience, with an additional $1.00/hour swing shift premium that increases over time up to a maximum of $3.00/hour.

Job Responsibilities:

This Fabrication Technician will be responsible for performing various kinds of fabrication, straightening, and welding using gas and electric welding equipment per nuclear standards. Key duties include:

  • TIG Welding with oversight Cobot Tip TIG and Laser Welding
  • Receiving instructions, prints, and work orders for the job, planning details of working procedure, tools, and material requirements
  • Fabricating equipment by cutting, burning, straightening, and welding various metals per Nuclear Standards
  • Repairing equipment by using appropriate welding techniques and welding equipment
  • Reading, understanding, and executing Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ), Procedure Qualification Record (PQR), and other pertinent welding documents
  • Assisting with building fabrication fixtures, including setup, preparation, shrinkage, and distortion control factors
  • Cleaning and preparing surfaces to be welded, setting up, assembling, and tacking weld parts
  • Using calibrated precision measuring instruments, including Faro Arm, to ensure work meets specifications, recording dimensions on Quality Assurance Forms (QAF)
  • Identifying and recommending product/process improvements
  • Assisting with documenting work processes
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work area and adhering to company policies

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, candidates must have demonstrated proficiency with TIG Welding (GTAW) and experience with Stainless Steel and/or Aluminum preferred. A minimum of five (5) years welding experience or demonstrated equivalent experience through passing certification tests is required, with the ability to interpret mechanical drawings for proper applications of tolerances, fit, and process control.
