About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our team at True Food Kitchen. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook starters, entrees, pizzas, and other menu items using a variety of kitchen equipment and techniques.
  • Know and comply consistently with portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure a smooth service.
  • Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work station and corresponding equipment.
  • Execute proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
  • Handle, store, and rotate all products properly and according to standards.
  • Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
  • Open and close the kitchen properly, assist others, and follow checklists for kitchen stations.
  • Understand and follow proper rules of hygiene and food safety measures.
  • Participate in proactive communication to help avoid and solve operational, HR, and financial issues.
Requirements
  • Experience in a minimum of one of the following stations: Pantry, Pastry, Pizza, Wok, Saute, Grill.
  • Experience in more than one station is a plus.
  • Preferably have at least 6 months experience in a similar capacity in a high-volume restaurant.
  • The flexibility and availability to work nights, holidays, and/or weekends is required.
  • Exhibit exceptional knife skills.
  • Can work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Read and execute a recipe.
  • A love of making great food and understanding the accountability of presenting quality dishes.
