About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Clinical Instructor to join our team at West Coast University. As a Clinical Instructor, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of nurses by providing guidance, academic support, and mentorship to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Serve as a role model and facilitator, providing guidance and academic support to students in the obstetrics clinical setting.
  • Teaching and Learning: Demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and the teaching/learning process, and apply your skills and experience to your assigned teaching schedule.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Participate in and contribute to assessment activities of courses/curriculum and programs via a continuous improvement plan set forth by the University.
  • Classroom Materials and Syllabi: Regularly contribute to the improvement of class materials and syllabi within a shared governance culture.
  • Teaching Methodologies: Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies to instruct students, with the intent to facilitate observable evidence of student fulfillment of prescribed learning outcomes.
  • Scholarly Activities: Maintain scholarly activities and participate in professional growth and service in accordance with university policies.
  • Student Success: Advance our commitment and focus on the students we serve, and their success as healthcare professionals.
  • Technology and Resources: Fully leverage our innovative technologies and resources, such as our Simulation and Innovation Labs.
Requirements
  • Clinical Experience: A minimum of two (2) years prior experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care and a minimum of one year experience in the field in which they teach.
  • Education: A Master's degree in nursing and professional nurse licensure required.
  • State and Federal Compliance: Compliance with state, federal, and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance, and other regulatory standards such as state Board of Nursing.
