Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician performs a wide range of duties, including:

  • Diagnostic and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Regular preventive maintenance, including documentation and scheduling
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Conduct maintenance according to skill level and safety policies
    • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders
    • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments
    • Detect faulty operations and report unusual situations to the facility maintenance manager
    • Utilize Microsoft Office to order and schedule parts and jobs
    • Perform work in a safe manner and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
    • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Completed or working on a 2-year trades degree and/or 4 years of plant maintenance experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Able to read, write, and speak English; bilingual capabilities are a plus
  • Able to communicate and take direction from the Sanitation Manager and communicate effectively with line workers, Leads, Supervisors, and Plant Manager
  • Attention to detail and legible record-keeping and data-entry skills
  • Highly motivated, flexible, and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Welding and fabrication, a full understanding of 3 Phase electrical, tree-phase motor controls, and troubleshoot AC & DC drives

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to various machines, noise levels, and temperatures
  • Team environment requiring effective communication and collaboration
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
  • May be required to work weekend and night hours to fill in as needed
