Role Summary
Duncan Financial Group is in search of a Tax Accountant to spearhead the Tax & Accounting division, serving a diverse clientele, many of whom have established relationships with our firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the formulation and execution of the growth strategy for the Tax & Accounting division.
- Work collaboratively with leadership to allocate resources effectively to enhance client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and growth.
- Prepare year-end tax filings for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
- Review client-provided data and implement necessary adjustments for accurate financial statement and tax return preparation.
- Generate year-end documentation and financial statements for business clients.
- Conduct tax research on various issues as they arise.
- Address correspondence from the IRS and various state and local tax authorities.
- Maintain clear communication with clients to ensure that expectations and deadlines are consistently met.
- Prepare quarterly payroll tax returns and year-end W-2s and 1099s.
- Process client information, checks, payroll, and deposits into accounting software, ensuring account reconciliation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) designation.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong decision-making abilities, with the capacity to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with LaCerte Tax Software and QuickBooks.
- Experience with TaxDome is advantageous.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Hybrid Work Arrangement)
