This role involves crafting exceptional dishes that align with the esteemed culinary standards of Hotel Investment Services. A solid background in utilizing diverse ingredients and cooking methods is essential, as we aim to uphold and elevate our reputation while attracting a broader clientele.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize workstations with all necessary ingredients and cooking tools
- Prepare ingredients for cooking (including chopping vegetables and slicing meats)
- Utilize various cooking equipment and grills to prepare meals
- Monitor food during cooking to ensure proper stirring and turning
- Enhance presentation by garnishing dishes prior to serving
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Ensure proper storage of food and other supplies
- Assess the quality of ingredients
- Track inventory and initiate orders for supplies when needed
- Demonstrated experience as a cook
- Proficiency in using kitchen tools, cookware, and bakeware
- Understanding of various cooking techniques (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.)
- Capability to adhere to all sanitation standards
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Good physical health and endurance
- High school diploma or equivalent; Culinary school diploma is a plus
- Upscale casual dining establishment
- High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years in cooking (Required)
- ServSafe certification (Preferred)
- Job type: Seasonal
- Wage Range: $18 to $22 per hour based on experience
