Nurse Oncologist

Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest not-for-profit health system in Texas, seeks a skilled Nurse Oncologist to join its team at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide high-level patient care, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the well-being of individuals and communities.

As a Nurse Oncologist, you will oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. Your key responsibilities include:

• Conducting detailed clinical assessments to recognize health issues and create personalized care plans
• Prioritizing patient and family needs, creating, implementing, and evaluating care plans to achieve desired outcomes
• Building therapeutic relationships with patients and families, managing discomfort, and staying professional
• Educating patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

• A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures
• Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area
• Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common meds, and their side effects
• Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing
• Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking
• Basic computer skills, encompassing areas such as Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email
