Key Responsibilities:

Evidence-Based Instruction and Mastery

  • Ensure program success by implementing the College's philosophy, curriculum, and course objectives through classroom, online, and clinical instruction, as well as service to the University and the broader community.
  • Innovate and enhance curricular offerings during the annual preparation and revision of assigned courses.
  • Manage all aspects of individual teaching responsibilities autonomously.
  • Evaluate clinical agencies for suitability in providing student clinical experiences and meeting course outcomes.
  • Design clinical experiences and offer direct/indirect supervision and assessment of nursing students delivering care.
  • Collaborate with clinical agencies and University departments to oversee clinical preceptors/mentors for student experiences and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students regarding their performance in relation to course outcomes.
  • Facilitate student remediation within assigned courses.
  • Communicate current information about agency/clinical policies and expectations.
  • Assign clinical tasks that align with students' knowledge, skills, and learning needs.

Professional Role Model and Chamberlain University Care

  • Act as a positive professional role model for students, aiding in their professional and social development.
  • Serve as an informal leader, mentor, and role model for faculty and staff in customer service, collaboration, communication, and professionalism.
  • Guide new faculty members in their roles.

Professional Engagement

  • Participate in professional activities beyond the University.
  • Engage in academic advisement and counseling for assigned students, addressing potential concerns.
  • Contribute to the development and assessment of student admission, progression, retention, and graduation policies.
  • Facilitate opportunities for student and graduate evaluations of curriculum and teaching effectiveness.
  • Provide insights to the program leader regarding budgetary requirements.
  • Demonstrate leadership within the University by undertaking responsibilities such as:
  1. Chairing or participating in University committees.
  2. Leading work groups for accreditation preparations.
  3. Collecting and analyzing data for course and program reviews to promote continuous improvement.
  4. Serving as course coordinator or Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  5. Documenting actions taken in faculty and committee meetings as needed.

Nursing Practice Expertise

  • Exhibit scholarship through various forms of teaching, discovery, application, or integration in line with assigned rank expectations.
  • Maintain a scholarly approach to teaching by keeping course materials current, applying evidence-based practices, welcoming peer reviews, and reflecting on personal teaching methods.

*Additional duties may be assigned, and compliance with all policies and standards is expected.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Professional nursing licensure is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience is necessary.
  • Prior teaching experience is essential, along with a passion for educating diverse learners.
  • Preparedness to teach assigned courses based on experience.
  • Maintain current regulatory and practice credentials as required.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a high level of initiative and judgment are essential.
  • Scholarship requirements must align with the rank level.

*Education and experience must comply with state regulations and the rules of state authorization agencies.

Additional Information:

In accordance with pay transparency laws, the expected salary range for this position is between $53,520.90 and $93,000. Actual compensation will be adjusted based on job-related factors such as experience, training, geographic location, licensure, certifications, market conditions, departmental budgets, and responsibilities.
