We are currently seeking a skilled Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our established Neuro Critical Care team. This role is based in our Neuro ICU, which features 23 ICU beds, 9 IMCU beds, and an active stroke service. Our team specializes in managing complex neurological conditions, including acute ischemic stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracranial hemorrhage, status epilepticus, brain tumors, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injury. This inpatient role allows the experienced APP to ensure continuity of care from admission through discharge.
The APP will collaborate closely with the attending physician to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting comprehensive history and physical examinations, as well as daily progress notes and discharge summaries.
- Performing thorough physical and neurological assessments.
- Interpreting imaging studies and formulating diagnostic plans.
- Writing medical orders and executing procedures such as central lines, arterial lines, intrathecal medication administration, and lumbar punctures.
- Engaging in effective communication with patients and their families to ensure understanding and support.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.
- Certification as an ACNP or AG-ACNP.
- Current licensure in the State of Georgia as an Advanced Practice Provider.
- ACLS certification is required.
- NIHSS and Modified Rankin certification.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in an ICU setting is preferred.
