About the Position

CMU Medical Education Partners is seeking a highly qualified Surgical Oncologist to join our academic faculty team. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our residents and medical students.

Key Responsibilities

**Clinical Responsibilities**

  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to residents and medical students in various settings, including clinics, outpatient procedures, and in-patient care.
  • Maintain an independent practice, focusing on patient care and education.
  • Participate in call coverage, adhering to the Surgical on-call schedule.

**Administrative and Departmental Leadership Responsibilities**

  • Contribute to departmental leadership, including medical directorships and other administrative roles.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement training programs and educational initiatives.

**Research and Scholarship**

  • Engage in research and scholarly activities, contributing to the department's research objectives.
  • Participate in regional and national presentations, research mentoring, and peer-reviewed publications.

**Education and Training**

  • Develop and implement educational programs, including clinics, out-patient services, and office-based programs.
  • Assist in the evaluation of educational programs and resident performance.
  • Participate in conferences, lectures, and presentations, sharing expertise and knowledge with colleagues and students.

**Qualifications**

  • State of Michigan licensed or eligible.
  • Board-eligible or certified in Oncology.
  • Controlled Substance license.
  • Meet credentialing criteria.
  • Leadership or educational experience preferred.
