Job Summary
Kindred Hospital Louisville is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Professional, you will play a vital role in the recovery process for chronic, critically ill, and medically complex patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for use by Physicians in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
- Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, positioning patients and locating/scanning areas for interpretation as directed by Physicians or Radiologists.
- Explain procedures to patients and/or family members, ensuring cooperation and optimum test results to reduce anxiety.
- Develop and assemble patient information, including history and past films/records, for review by Radiologists/Physicians.
- Prepare and clean patient rooms, ensuring an efficient and clean working environment.
- Assist Physicians with procedures such as needle biopsies, renal biopsies, etc., by scanning patients, marking bodies, and determining puncture angles.
- Schedule patients and ensure adequate service.
- Maintain patient information, purging or updating patient film jackets and/or filing reports or film files.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment, performing scheduled cleanings/tests and documenting results.
Requirements
- Satisfactory completion of a formal Ultrasound training program or equivalent training as specified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Registration through the ARDMS (Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) is preferred.
- Two (2) years of Ultrasound experience is preferred.
