Job Summary

Kindred Hospital Louisville is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Professional, you will play a vital role in the recovery process for chronic, critically ill, and medically complex patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for use by Physicians in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
  • Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, positioning patients and locating/scanning areas for interpretation as directed by Physicians or Radiologists.
  • Explain procedures to patients and/or family members, ensuring cooperation and optimum test results to reduce anxiety.
  • Develop and assemble patient information, including history and past films/records, for review by Radiologists/Physicians.
  • Prepare and clean patient rooms, ensuring an efficient and clean working environment.
  • Assist Physicians with procedures such as needle biopsies, renal biopsies, etc., by scanning patients, marking bodies, and determining puncture angles.
  • Schedule patients and ensure adequate service.
  • Maintain patient information, purging or updating patient film jackets and/or filing reports or film files.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment, performing scheduled cleanings/tests and documenting results.

Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of a formal Ultrasound training program or equivalent training as specified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Registration through the ARDMS (Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) is preferred.
  • Two (2) years of Ultrasound experience is preferred.
