Job Summary

As a Staff Physician at Hackensack University Medical Center, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care in an inpatient or outpatient setting. This position requires a strong clinical leader who can supervise and assist house staff in clinical decision making, as well as supervise the care provided by Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and supervision of house staff in clinical decision making.
  • Supervise the care provided by Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and educational programs for physician and other professional staff.
  • Identify patient needs and modify care to meet those needs.
  • Adhere to Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.

Working Conditions

Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 10 lbs. and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Medical degree from a recognized Medical School.
  • Completion of a residency program from an accredited medical institution.
  • Member in good standing of Hackensack University Medical Center's Medical staff as an Attending Physician.

Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Medical Doctor License.
  • Controlled Dangerous Substances Physician Certification.
  • NJ Drug Enforcement Administration Certification.
